EDGING

Sl st to join in any sc on outside edge, ch 1, (sc, ch 5, 2tr-cl) in same st as join, [sk ch-6 sp, (sc, ch 5, 2tr-cl) in next sc] around, sl st in first ch-1 to join.

ADDING BEADS (OPTIONAL)

Note: Add beads only to the double shells around the outer edge of the shawl. This will add the right amount of sparkle and weight to the shawl’s edges. Add 3 beads per treble cluster (there are 3 clusters on one double shell), beads per cluster. Make sure to use a thin- enough needle to go through the small beads.

Thread some yarn through the needle, attach it to the bottom part of the first outer cluster, then add 3 beads through the needle; sew the beads in place to cover the cluster. Repeat this step twice more to finish one full outer double shell. Fasten off and weave in the ends. Repeat this step in every outer double shell around the perimeter of the shawl.
